What a Way to Go?

In late December of 2019, the world was forewarned that viral outbreaks took place in Wuhan, China earlier in 2019. While no one would believe that in 2021 millions would have lost their lives to this virus, it is ironic that the primary reasons are political. The USA, led by staunch Nationalists masquerading as Conservatives, could not respond to the world crisis. The USA, since the end of WWII, was known as the peacekeeper, the shimmering light on that glorious hill of democracy, the hope that was embodied at Ellis Island in New York harbor, and the defender of the defenseless. [The notions of America as the world leader came crashing in 2016.] It had elected a clownish person as president—he was elected as a result of  interferences in the US electoral processes by Vladimir Putin and the Russian KGB. For those who did vote for #45, much of what was true was they wanted change. They believed this conman who was utilized by Foreign Operatives to advance agendas that were counter to all that America stood for for many years.

As we wait for justice to turn its own brand of truth into history, the world isn’t a better place since the previous administration (#44) left office. The truth is hard to swallow for those of us who were blindsided by  acts of ignorance— and some of us who took painstaking measures over the years to become debunkers of fraud, chicanery, and general mayhem are at loss for words. What happened?

We could not entrust our democracy to a fickle and a disingenuous majority. I happen to be a baby-boomer— those who came after me didn’t trust the so-called, wiser generation. They believed politicians like Clintons were sleazy, liberal ideology was evil, and Conservative values were truer to God’s own plan for the world. My generation had to re-assemble its aging political armaments of rhetoric and persuasion to re-establish the order that comprised of the Marshall Plan, the New Deal, put men on the moon, fought klansmen and bigots during the Civil Rights movement, and supported women’s rights, too. The facts, as they truly stand: liberals such as myself would never subscribe to death panels for the elderly, leave children at US-Mexico border to languish and suffer, nor support terrorists who wish all of us ill and death. We don’t believe in death —while abortion is perhaps the thorniest of subjects, it has become a dividing line that semi-Conservatives hold against Liberals. Division is a source of anarchy—it is not a talking point.

As science removes the boundaries of life’s creation, some of us hope it can give those who never would harm fetuses nor the unborn a chance to find homes with those who can’t have children. No one is perfect—judge and you may not want what you asked for!

The result of putting people like #45 in the highest office of the land proved disastrous—we are a divided nation. 500000 US citizens have died and millions of the World’s citizens have died, tragically. The US was once the leader— now we are poised to be surpassed by those that our forefathers fought — Nationalists and dictatorships of terror.

We need to ask ourselves, what would you want your tombstone to read? It isn’t too difficult to conjure real truths, is it?
